Facebook, Big Changes - Recommendations Facebook reviews and star ratings have been updated to “Recommendations”. Instead of a user rating a business with a star count, it’s been replaced with the question: “Do you recommend [this business]?” with a Yes or No option. Prompted when a Client tags store or checks in.

The Announcement Facebook rolled this out quickly after Beta testing it, without advance notice. So…surprise!

The Process When Clients check in, tag a photo OR ARE NEARBY (with their phones), FB will ask them if they recommend the locations.

The Impact As with Reviews, the Recommendations will be visible and will help influence the decision making of potential Clients.

The Reporting Previously, it was difficult to flag a review as inappropriate. Facebook has made this easier for businesses to report (and hopefully get resolved!)

Using iAPPS Social to Reply You can soon reply to Reviews, er, Recommendations using iAPPS Social. For now, use FB directly.
