What is TAMS? TAMs is a top maximum security jail for double offenders , or serious murders. Most people who go to tams do not ever get released.

What is the difference between TAMS and normal jails? First, Prisoners have a very limited time to interact with others, and spend about 23 hours of the day in solitude That’s 1 hour of sunlight a day!

TAMS inmates usually get to see family or friends ONCE a month! For the more serious cases some inmates only get 10 minutes with family members a year. The prisoners don’t get out very much either. Basically they live in a small cell by themselves the only connection they have to the outside world is a 13 inch black and white TV.

Can people be released from TAMS? Yes, they can but most do not. If they ever get out of prison, they usually experience, depression, psychological distress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, and hostility.

So what’s the point? What we’re trying to get across to other people is that they are not treated very well. At all. They almost always come out with some sort of mental disorder. Think of how is human life being treated?

A question you might ask is well, they got themselves in jail its there own fault? When you do jail time isn't it suppose to teach you a lesson. Kind of like eye for an eye? Well causing someone mental disorders, and sickness isn't ‘teaching a lesson’ jails are meant to punish people for what they’ve done not scar them for life.

This isn't happening too far away from us! Why is this important to me? It’s important because there has been talk of shutting these jails down for the bad conditions, and now you know why. This isn't happening too far away from us!
