Freezer Inventory Management P12714 20112-20113 Freezer Inventory Management Team Members: Emily Burns (IE), Tim Hogan (IE), Ben Jilson (IE) , Ben Whipple (IE) Faculty Guide: Professor John Kaemmerlen (IE) Sponsor: Mike Least, Tim Buckley, Mouhssine Zine-Eddine Scope: Analyze the current operating state of the Wegman's Bakeshop Freezer. Identify process shortfalls that are contributing to the "out of control" state identified by the customer. Develop and apply solutions to those shortfalls deemed to be within the control of the client Implement these solutions in a timely and cost effective manner Develop a plan for sustaining these solutions in a way that results in an "in control" process for the foreseeable future. Proposed Solution: Sort: Full system reset to ensure everything is in it’s place. Set In Order: Organizational plan (see below). Shine: Sanitation crew completes full cleaning of freezer space. Standardize: Standard put away/pick process. Sustain: Everything has its place. If the system is out of control, pain is felt. Stop, Analyze, Prevent. Everything has an owner. Simple, daily checks by management. Recommendations: Prioritize locations Show obvious signal when a QA hold can be removed Considerations: Color coding scheme Signage Dedicated aisles Organizational Plan: Raw materials (full plts): A Raw materials (open plts): B Quality holds: C Finished goods: D Transfer spots: E
