Main Menu Formatting Tools in Word Using Formatting Tools

Formatting Tools Include: AutoCorrect AutoFormat As You Type can be used to correct typos, capitalization errors and misspelled words, as well as automatically inserting symbols or characters AutoFormat As You Type formats which are applied to text as the user is typing in a document some examples include: automatically bulleted or numbered lists fraction formatting ordinal number superscripts straight quotes with smart quotes Internet sites with hyperlinks

AutoCorrect Can be controlled by opening the AutoCorrect window by clicking the AutoCorrect Options button in the Proofing portion of the Word Options window and the options on the AutoCorrect tab

AutoFormat As You Type Can be controlled by opening the AutoCorrect window by clicking the AutoCorrect Options button in the Proofing portion of the Word Options window and the options on the AutoFormat as You Type tab

Symbols & Special Characters Can be automatically inserted by the AutoCorrect tool if it is one of the options listed in the Replace text as you type area

Symbols & Special Characters Can be inserted by using the Symbol window which can be opened by clicking on the Insert tab and in the Symbols group clicking the Symbol button
