Welcome and Good News Welcome to our 2nd Joint Governing Body Meeting for the 2018-2019 School Year. If you have not done so already, please sign the attendance sheet on the back table, grab a plate courtesy of our Title I Incentives Program and enjoy the presentations we have prepared Next month we will begin out “Box Tops for Education” Project! These tops can be found on household and food packages. Proceeds from the box tops are used to purchase supplies for our students. Drop your box tops off in the Main Office.

Recent Field Trips &Early Release Day LKCS students have participated in school field trips as a part of our Title I Incentive Initiative. Tomorrow, September 26th , is an Early Release Day. All LKCS and APAA students will be dismissed at 11:30am. LKCS and APAA Teachers will participate in professional development at 12:00pm, so parents are asked to please

Benchmarks and Assessments LKCS and APAA students have participated in Reading Inventory (RI), Math Inventory (MI), and Center for Higher Standards diagnostic testing. Students will take their assessments again the week of October 22nd and the week of December 3rd. Teachers have been asked to work towards a goal of 25% increases in student knowledge for each assessment period. Please contact Mrs. Jackson or Mrs. Cuthbertson for additional information on student assessments.

Grandparent’s Day Program The Grandparents and Special Loved Ones of our LKCS and APAA students are cordially invited to our Grandparent’s Day Program on Friday, October 19th in the campus auditorium at 10:00am. Our students are preparing poems, songs, dances and presentations in your honor. Afterwards, you are invited to have lunch with your grandchild(ren) or special student(s). Menus will be available in advance, if you would like to pre-order lunch. We hope you come join us! Parent Telephone Surveys will be conducted in October to see how well we are doing to service parents and students. Please take a few minutes to participate in the phone survey.
