What does AVID stand for? Advancement Via Individual Determination

AVID Mission Statement “To close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.”

The AVID elective…. AVID is an academic elective that prepares students for the academic demand and rigor of college by developing strategies that focus on WICOR—writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading.

Our Theme this year… Meticulous Urbane Sagacity Edify

Grading ONLY Summative Assessments will be calculated for final grades. Tutorials Binder/agenda checks Quizzes/tests, etc. Formative Assessments…review and reinforce AVID strategies and skills.

AVID Contracts Students should have presented these to you already. Review together…both sign the contract
