Classification

Vertebrates Animals with a backbone that surrounds a spinal cord Chordata is the only Animal Phylum with backbones!

Vertebrates are divided into classes: Mammals Birds Reptiles Amphibians Fish

Mammals Fur or hair covered body Warm blooded Mothers feed the young

Birds Warm blooded Body covered in feathers Mothers feed the young

Reptiles Body covered in scales Cold blooded Young get their own food

Amphibians Body covered in soft skin Cold blooded Young get their own food

Fish Usually covered in scales Cold blooded Young get their own food

AGAIN….. Vertebrates have a spinal cord protected by a backbone
