Robot Challenges

Aims Build a battling robot that can Steer using wired buttons Travel through a maze Be the fasted on the speed trial Destroy the opposition

Limitations Only use 10mm square dowel 4mm round dowel Card Two crumble cards Two battery packs Wires Buttons Two geared motors for wheels One stepper motor (great for back and forward) Ordinary motors 1 or 2

Consideration Weight Steering using buttons (wires come out the back) Weapon (blunt only) Framework (joins) Groups of 4 from the plan drawing stage

Process Ideas (individually) Pick groups Plan drawings (plan & side view) drawn to scale Build Programming steering Test Robot Challenges Competition

Pick Groups of 4 Appoint a leader Teachers will vet the leaders and groups

Basic Weapon Types

Agree Robot Features Where will wheels go? Length, width, height Shape Weapons Type of non drive wheels Position of crumbles and battery packs

Technical Drawings Plan view Side view Lengths marked on Things underneath shown using dotted line Extra information written on with arrows Draw actual size (to scale 1:1)
