Support from Parents/Carers Support from home makes a huge difference. You can help by: Checking child’s planner and ShowMyHomework regularly Checking basic equipment such as pencil case Checking in good time that your child understands their homework Knowledge organisers (need to be brought to school every day and used every evening) Helping with memorisation tasks like learning keywords and facts Encouraging your child to read regularly Informing us of any change in circumstances that could be impact on your child’s learning BGR

Your child’s support team and how to contact us Admin Finance Teachers Personnel / HR ILD staff Attendance Support Officer Tutor Student leaders / Peer mentors Exam entry / data There is lots of support from different members of staff at JOG. From admin, finance. Catering to peer mentors. To get in contact with any members of staff the best way to get in contact with a member of staff is to email your son/daughters’ tutor and they will either help or will be able to point you in contact with the person you require. Pastoral support Governors Faculty assistants / Preparation staff Ground staff / Environment …..@jogschool.org Catering BGR

Attendance We expect all students to attend school in line with Government expectations, reaching a minimum of 95% attendance. Some absences are unavoidable but we would ask that parents and carers support the school in ensuring your child’s attendance meets these expectations. If you need to report your child's absence you need to contact the school by 9.00am using the School Gateway app in the first instance. Alternatively, email absence@jogschool.org or leave a message on the absence line. If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, your first point of contact is your child’s tutor. You may also wish to contact the school’s attendance officer, Mrs Pepler on 01225 711152 or email zpepler@jogschool.org JMA

Your child’s support team and how to contact us Admin Finance Attendance Support Officer = Mrs Pepler Attendance target of school = 96% Clear correlation and link between attendance and results! Teachers Personnel / HR ILD staff Tutor Student leaders / Peer mentors Exam entry / data We understand if there are medical reasons and will be expecting doctors notes if attendance is poor but want to try to decrease the number of times the students are off with a cold or just feel like they do not want to come in sometimes. Pastoral support Governors Faculty assistants / Preparation staff Ground staff / Environment Attendance Support Officer …..@jogschool.org Catering SLO JMA

Attitude to learning scores are back! This means that each lesson the teacher will put a number from 1-4 for the present mark. 1 being a negative attitude to learning and 4 being exemplary attitude to learning. The number given will be chosen based on the attitude to learning in the lesson and the quality of the homework handed in ( if relevant) BGR
