Ag Education Graduates in agricultural education are in demand to fill a fifteen-year shortage of high school agricultural teachers in Colorado and nationwide. A new concentration in our degree program is in Agricultural Literacy, informing others about the process of food production.

Ag Education Two-thirds of the Colorado State graduates have become teachers or administrators in public schools Students are prepared to teach in community or junior colleges, area career and technical schools lead agricultural literacy initiatives for groups or organizations, work in many aspects of the agriculture industry due to the diversity of the coursework

Ag Education 58 active Primary Majors (additional students also list this as a second major or as a minor) 155 undergraduate students served in different courses in agricultural education 65 students (both on campus and across Colorado) graduate courses in agricultural education Due to the expansion in concentrations, the enrollment in the initial course of agricultural education went from 22 to 42 in one year Enrollment is anticipated to continue growing

Center for Agricultural Education ARDEC Phase I ARDEC Phase II A joint campaign between The Colorado FFA Foundation and our College of Agricultural Sciences funded a new facility to transform teaching and application of information in agricultural education at Colorado State University and for the state

Center for Agricultural Education Students combine practical experience and technical course work including animal systems, plant systems, agriculture business systems, food systems, agriculture mechanics and technical systems, natural systems, national resources and environmental systems; the center is poised to provide practical experience and relevance due to the location on the CSU Agriculture Research farm The center is also the hub for distance delivery of agricultural literacy and expanded agricultural education offerings

Request Request for 50% funding ($28,085) for the new Ag Education facility Classroom Services provided estimate The equipment was chosen for it’s reliability and flexibility College Charges for Technology has already approved 50% funding on the condition that we present this proposal to UTFAB

Request Equipment maintenance will be shared with the program faculty and CAS-IT All classroom technology will be maintained with College Charges for Technology funds Building will be “delivered” in April with classes starting in the Fall The college is prepared to contact facilities immediately once funding is secured
