Course Overview for Term 5

What are we going to do in Term 5? We will continue working with the Science Explorer series books. The book will change to: Chemical Interactions

What are we going to do in Term 5? The Homework will continue to be marked on completion. I will be much more strict on homework hand in dates. Some people are leaving homework incomplete for far too long and expecting it to be marked.

What are we going to do in Term 5? All of the important dates are marked in the assignment packet. The assignment packet is available online on my website. www.cdsphysics.weebly.com

Molecules Introduction to molecules How to write chemical formula

Magnesium atom, Mg (2,8,2) Oxygen atom, O (2,6) Bonding Magnesium atom, Mg (2,8,2) Oxygen atom, O (2,6)

Carbon Bonding Functional groups too

Acids and Bases Below is a listing of some common items and their approximate pH values.

Thermodynamics To explore how energy is released or absorbed during reactions

Student Labs We will perform the experiments that you wrote proposals for on days 14&15.

Polymers Ask if anyone knows any materials that start with poly. Polythene Polyester Pvc Polystrene
