Expression of constitutively active, oncogenic K-Ras by eR1 most commonly resulted in the overproduction of surface pit (foveolar) cells (lavender, top) likely driven by isthmal eR1. Rarer gastric units developed proliferative SPEM-type metaplasia likely driven by K-Ras from basal eR1-expressing chief cells.
