Batik

Step 1: First cover the areas you wish to remain white

Step 2: Sponge on Orange areas Step 2: Sponge on Orange areas. The bleed outside the lines will be covered by black dye later.

Step 3: Allow to dry or dry with a hairdryer.

Step 4: Add Step 4: Add blue dye.

Step 5: Cover areas you wish to keep blue with wax. Sponge on yellow

Step 6: Cover yellow with wax and Sponge on black dye.

Step 7. Cover all the dyed areas with wax.

Step 8: Immerse in background colour

Step 9: crack the wax

Step 10: final dye for crackle effect

Leaving Cert Requirements Must be immersed in the dye at least two times. Must demonstrate tjanting and crackling techniques. White is very important as this dissapears on you so keep a good bit of white
