Induction Template awarded to QNI Scope the literature for evidence of research and best practice examples regarding induction for nurses whose first destination is General Practice Nursing. Work with NHSE and the regional GPN delivery boards to identify current best practice for induction of newly qualified nurses in general practice in each of the regions. Ensure that the resource draws on evidence of best practice, seeking from our wide GPN networks feedback and resources from those who have created an induction programme which has been successful for newly qualified nurses in their locality. Support a reference group of experienced GPNs in practice who have provided preceptorship and mentoring of newly qualified nurses to support the development of the resource in terms of content and style. Link with HEE preceptorship work underway Recognise and accommodate the induction needs of nurses who have registered in the four fields of practice: Adult, Child, Mental Health and Learning Disability. Their experience and skills to transfer to General Practice Nursing role will be different in each field. Involve General Practitioner colleagues who are the main employers of the General Practice Nurses, to provide the employer perspective on the resource content and invite Practice Managers to be included in the review. Develop, review, test and refine the content of the draft resource with the reference group and amend according to feedback.
