This is when the hole where the chrome strips on the outside of the truck were welded shut. This picture shows where the holes were welded shut. The truck was taken to Brezeale’s Sandblasting in Easley, seeing that we did not have a machine to do this job. After the truck was sandblasted, we picked it up and took it back home.

My reflection: I had the best experience doing this project that I have had in a while. Growing up seeing this truck sit in the yard and wondering if it would ever be fixed made me want to fix it myself. I did my research paper on how to restore a ‘66 Chevrolet truck. I found out that it would be expensive and time consuming. Once I put forth the effort I did find out that it was time consuming as well as stressful. Some of the parts we order wouldn’t fit and we had to send them back and order new ones and then wait for them to come in. Anytime something like that happened we would always get behind. I kept head strong and prayed for the best.
