Hall C Hot Check Out Process Ernest Stallworth

Outline Statement Beam Line Devices Sufficient for this Operation Define Hot Check out Process Status of Beam line Devices by Group Status of CED/ Song Sheets Outstanding Issues /Concerns Path Forward

Statement: Is Hall C Equipment Hot Check Out Process sufficient for establishing that Hall C beam line and Physics hardware is ready for beam operation and supportive of program goals. (400watts @4.483 GeV in Tune beam mode)

Beam Line Devices Needed Devices needed to meet the objective of this run,400watts @4.483 GeV in Tune beam mode BPM’s (all “SEE” BPM’s used in 2012 will be operational) Viewers (ITV3C05,ITV3H07) Harps (IHA3C05,IHA3H07B) Vacuum, all Valve opened and pumps operational PSS and MPS for CEBAF and Hall C

Define Hot Check Out Process Hot Check Out: The process by which all required hardware and software systems (old and new) are tested for proper functionality and signed off as being ready for beam operations. Process used for Accelerator, Hall A,B, and D

Status of Beam line Devices by Group

Status of Beam line devices to be Masked Alignment: Will be made ready Monday March 7,2016 DC Power:  MAT3C05H, MFR3H04H/V, MAT3C02V, MAT3C02AV, MAT3C04V, MQA3C09, MQA3C10, MQA3C14 I&C: IPM3H08,IPM3H09,IPM3P02B.IPM3P02A IHA3C07A,IHA3C07B,IHA3C12A,IHA3C12B,IHA3C17A,IHA3C17B, IHA3C20, IHA3H07A VBV3P02A, VBV3P02B Installation: None Low level Apps: Magnet Measurement: None MPS: Beam loss monitors(BLM’s),Beam loss Accounting(BLA’s),Ion Chambers SSG: Will know on March 8th or 9th HCO date Vacuum:

Masked Elements in 3C/3P (as of Mar. 02)

Masked Element 3M/3H (as of Mar.02)

Status of CED/ Song Sheet Beamline elements have been imported into the CED, and pushed to the HCO tool. Element naming discrepancies resolved between stakeholders. Controls system configuration modified All OTF screens will be automatically generated from the new data. Daniel Moser, from Ops, has been auditing OTF screens. Hall C optics have been loaded into the CED. Summary of naming and order changes will be given to Chase for completion of the Hall C song sheet. Song sheets will be pushed for review tomorrow(March 4) and released if no problems.

Outstanding Issues /Concerns Access needed into BSY to replace RF module for BPM (IPM3C00) Magnet Measurement need access to BSY for several visual checks of magnets PSS HCO (March 8 & 9) PSS Certification (March 10) Song sheets will be pushed for review tomorrow (March 4) and released if no problems. Tune Beam to Hall C (March 14)

Path Forward Sustain hard earn gains by ensuring equipment that was not ready or masked for this run are made ready by continuing to follow our Hot Check Out Process. Conclusion: Assessing where we are now and where we need to be one week from now, I can say with a high level of certainty that we are in position to support the current program run.
