Step by step guide to: Smart Search (Retrospective motion search)

Smart Search - Introduction The Smart search facility within the Viper range allows the user to retrospectively analyse the recorded video footage, and look for motion within a particular part of the screen. This search method analyses up to 24 hours of video, and presents a list of events within that period.

Smart Search - Step 1 Right click on live screen and select ‘Search’. Next click on ‘Smart Search’.

Smart Search - Step 2 Select the channel number required.

Smart Search - Step 3 Select ‘Area Setup’.

Smart Search - Step 4 Set the required areas to be analysed by clicking and dragging. Once set click ‘Select’.

Smart Search - Step 5 The selected areas will turn red. If this is the correct area click ‘Apply’.

Smart Search - Step 6 Next set up the ‘Start’ time and ‘Stop’ time for the period to be analysed.

Smart Search - Step 7 Click ‘Search’ to start the analysis.

Smart Search - Step 8 A listing of motion events will appear. Click the arrow to the right to view a still image. When the correct event is identified click ‘Play’.

Smart Search - Step 9 To return to the search menu from the playback screen click on the search icon as shown in the image to the left.
