CHILDHOOD Marie was born in Warsaw (Poland), on November 7th , 1867. She was a Polish scientist but of French nationality.

HER STUDIES In 1891, she moved to Paris with her older sister.

PIERRE AND HER FAMILY In 1894 she met Pierre Curie, who later became her husband.

DISCOVERED Marie Curie was interested in the recent discoveries of the new types of radiation.

LAST YEARS In 1911, Marie was involved in a scandal when she started a relationship with Paul Langevin, who was already married.

AWARDS MOST OUTSTANDING: Nobel Prize in physics – 1903 Davy Medal – 1903 Matteucci Medal-1904 Nobel Prize in chemistry - 1911
