what IS SWAC? Secondary school courses are taught by secondary school teachers on the college campus College dual credit courses are taught by college instructors on the college campus Students are at college 5 days/week during the semester working on secondary school courses and dual credit courses Students are registered with a college and have access to all learning supports, resources and services

Who is the Ideal Candidate? Disengaged Youth with the Potential to Succeed! Interested in pursuing a career in the trades Have had numerous absences Be in need of career clarification May have previously dropped out of school Have fewer credits than average for his/her grade Be unsure about their pathway beyond high school OLC TECH/OYAP SST

Course Offerings and Information Student will receive: 4 OSSD credits 2 college credits ( Intro to Construction and Trade Calculations delivered by College Instructor) Students automatically receive 2 OSSD credits by taking college courses. The other two OSSD courses offered by HCDSB teacher will depend on the needs of the student

Application Timelines Identify students that would benefit from the SWAC program Application submission between September - November Intake Interviews to be held at at home school in December Tour of Mohawk campus for applicants and parents in January Class begins Semester 2 Step 3 Title Step 2 Title Step 1 Title
