REQUIREMENTS eSign Server in version 9 or later DHCP recommended Network connection between eSignTouch and eSign Server At least port 28888 or as configured on the Server NTP server recommended (local or internet)

eSign Server Configuration I (Not necessary if you are using easescreen demo equipment) Enable Touch-UI support “Administration” → “Settings” → “TouchUI” Tab Create (all required) resources at the eSign Server “Administration”→ “Resources” → “New Resource” At the “Details” tab: In order to profit from all eSignTouch benefits: do enable “Confirmation of events required“ For further configuration note down the “Internal ID”

eSign Server Configuration II (Not necessary if you are using easescreen demo equipment) To display multiple rooms on an eSignTouch you have to generate a board: “Administration” → “Boards” → “Add New Board” Configure the Board as needed. Enter all resources that should be available at direct booking. Important: at “Sort Events by” select “Resource, also include unoccupied Resources” Recommended: at “Show events” select “only from Begin-Time to End-Time” Find the Internal ID of the board Go to “Preview” and show a preview of your new Board See the Internal ID at the URL of your preview e.g. .../board.html?BOARD=4&STYLE=0….

Basic eSignTouch Configuration Attach mouse and keyboard or connect via VNC to the eSignTouch The VNC password is FELDTECH Exit the eSignTouch application by pressing the keyboard key Q Open the “eSign Touch Settings” textfile Replace the preconfigured eSignServerUrl with the URL of your eSign Server Save and close your settings file Start the eSign Touch application from the desktop shortcut If all settings are right you will see the grey unconfigured screen

Connecting eSignTouch and Resource Open easescreen_esign.ini at the server (C:\esign\) Scroll down to the [EmbeddedDoorSigns] section You will find the Doorsign ID of the previously attached doorsign (e.g. rju4-mmCq-BaFM) Now do assign the desired design (C:\esign\Files\DesignXMl) as well as the ID of the board and the ID of the resource to your eSignTouch DoorsignID=DesignXML.xml|RessourceID|ShowBeforeTimeInMinutes|ShowAfterTimeInMinutes|BoardID rju4-mmCq-BaFM=esigntouch10.xml|12|300|#|8 After the file is saved, your eSignTouch should be ready to use

Design your eSignTouch eSign Touch uses a customizable XML Design file for all functions and design properties Some design template can be found at your eSign server installation in \esign\Files\DesignXML\ Folder To modify designs we recommend notepad++ as editor. Changing the background could be done by replacing its path in the esigntouch10.xml All paths are starting at the root directory of the webserver. All pictures should be stored in \esign\files. To reload your design at the doorsign, change the XML name in the easescreen_esign.ini (e.g. lower-case to upper-case) After the file is saved, your eSignTouch should receive the new design.

IP configuration on eSignTouch Connect a keyboard and a mouse Exit the eSignTouch application (press Q) Open “Network Connections” and edit the last used wired connection At “IPv4 Settings” Click “Add” and edit the address If asked for a password when saving, use FELDTECH

NTP configuration on eSignTouch Attach mouse and keyboard or connect via VNC to the eSignTouch The VNC Password is FELDTECH Exit the eSignTouch application (Press Q) Start LXTerminal Run the command “sudo leafpad” and a text editor will open. If asked for a password use FELDTECH In leafpad select “File” → ”Open” Navigate from “File System” to “/etc” and double click on ntp.conf Extent the entries by entering your local NTP server server IpofYourNTPserver iburst server 0.debian.pool.ntp.org iburst Save and close the ntp.conf A random time after the next reboot the eSignTouch will sync with your NTP Server

Font configuration on eSignTouch Attach mouse and keyboard or connect via VNC to the eSignTouch The VNC Password is FELDTECH Exit the eSignTouch application (Press Q) Start LXTerminal If asked for a password use FELDTECH. In the explorer move to ”/usr/share/fonts/truetype” Paste your .ttf font file in this folder After the next reboot the eSignTouch will be able to display this font
