Team 4: Project Forget-Me-Not ECE 477 Digital Systems Senior Design Project  Fall 2010 Team 4: Project Forget-Me-Not Project Overview Project Forget-Me-Not is a child seat monitor for use in vehicles. Detects the presence of a child in a child safety seat and will sound an alarm, roll down the windows, and unlock the car if a child is left in a car. Interfaces directly with the government-mandated OBD-II port to detect vehicle state. OBD-II port is available in all vehicles manufactured since 1996. Project Specific Success Criteria An ability to determine the operating state of the vehicle via the OBD-II port.  An ability to determine the presence of a child in a safety seat.  An ability to use multiple safety seats in one vehicle.  An ability to sound an audible alarm when the ignition is turned off.  An ability to interface directly to the internal vehicle CAN. System Control Flow Initialize Wait for interrupts Ignition off Check child flag If present, start timer Timer expired Sound Alarm CAN operations (windows, locks, etc) Door open Check child & ignition flags Sound chime Child put in/taken out of seat Ignition on Car Side Car Seat Side Digijock(ette)-Strength Digital System DesignTM
