ECD-1000 Multi-Channel Video Decoder Dec 2, 2013 Welcome to another ACTi product presentation. This time we are showcasing the ECD-1000 multi-channel video decoder.

Agenda Applications Features and Benefits System Architecture Installation, Setup, and Maintenance FAQ The agenda for this presentation is as follows; we will go through: Some main applications for the ECD-1000 Its features and benefits An illustration of its system architecture And some design features for its installation, setup, and maintenance

Administrator Intercom Application Education Administrator Intercom Retail Public View Monitor Healthcare Nursing Station Some vertical markets for the ECD-1000 include, but are not limited to: Retail, Education, and Healthcare. In reality, the device can be used in any application that requires one or multi-channel video viewing on a standalone monitor

Features and Benefits Features Benefits Supports up to 1080P input and output Excellent video quality for identification Up to 16 channels of concurrent live display (firmware version ECD-010-V1.00.03-AC) View multiple cameras at the same time Programmable video sequencing (tour) Rotate between video channels without sacrificing resolution Independent of recording system Is completely unaffected by the recording platform if it fails or otherwise encountering issues Powered and Live Streaming Through Ethernet Virtually unaffected by distance of cable runs For a user, the ECD-1000’s main features and its benefits include the following: It supports up to 1080P for excellent video quality 16 channels of concurrent live viewing is possible for overall monitoring Its View tours can be programmed for multi-channel views without reducing picture size Being completely separate from a VMS protects it from related failures; and It can display video anywhere as long as it can be reached via Ethernet

Camera Streams for Recording System Architecture Cameras Public View Monitor HDMI/BNC connectors ECD-1000 The system architecture for the ECD-1000 is rather simple. Simply place it on the same network as your cameras and it will display video in the user’s preference Note that the device can be powered by POE, but can also be powered by 12Volt DC should the user need to do so. Stand Alone NVR POE Switch Camera Streams for Liveview Camera Streams for Recording

Benefits to the Integrator Features Benefits Ease of Installation Bundled pole mount and standard VESA mount guarantees an easy and aesthetic installation Setup Versatility Can be fully set up regardless of local or remote No Maintenance Once installed, no further maintenance is required. Power loss/restore brings the unit back to previous viewing state automatically in addition to its intended applications, the ECD-1000 is also designed with the integrator in mind it provides ease of installation, setup versatility, and requires little to no maintenance once installed

VESA Mount (Third-party) Installation Ease Surface Mount Pole Mount (Bundled) VESA Mount (Third-party) No accessory necessary On a pole Behind screen (w/ bracket) There are several ways the ECD can be mounted. When placed directly on a surface, the ECD-1000 does not require any mounting accessory other than screws. If a pole is present, such as one used as a pendant mount for the monitor, the ECD’s bundled accessory can be mounted on the pole directly. A standard VESA mount can also be used to secure the device behind the monitor. Note that VESA mounts are sold separately by third-party vendors.

Local Setup (Mouse and Monitor) Remote Setup (Ethernet, PC) Setup Versatility Setting Local Setup (Mouse and Monitor) Remote Setup (Ethernet, PC) Network Yes Device Video Quality View Layout View Tour Setup Screen the ECD-1000 can be easily set up locally with the monitor attached to it or accessed remotely using a PC. Whether accessed locally or remotely, there is little difference between the settings of the setup screens, as shown here, and can suit the user’s needs either way.

Trouble-Free Maintenance Automatically returns to previous view upon power restore Once set up, The ECD-1000 does not need to be maintained. If power fails during its operation, it will always return to the previous display mode upon recovery.

Optimized Performance Dynamic adjustment for maximum local live-view capability (firmware version ECD-010-V1.00.03-AC) The ECD-1000 dynamically adjusts the maximum local live-view capability by optimizing its system resource. The table below provides the correspondence between the camera settings and channel numbers in ECD-1000. In 16-channel mode, you can get the best frame rate at VGA resolution while using 16 cameras. You can also switch it to 4 channel mode if you need 4 full HD camera displays running at 30 frames per second. Please note that this feature is supported after firmware version ECD-010-V1.00.03.

Summary User benefits Maintenance Full HD viewing Up to 16-channel concurrent video display Programmable tours Virtually not distance limitation Maintenance Versatile mounting options Ease of setup locally and remotely Worry-free maintenance In conclusion, the ECD-1000 is an excellent choice for video decoding and public viewing. Its benefits to the user include: -Full HD viewing -Up to 16 channels of concurrent video display -Programmable tours, and -Virtually no distance limitation As for the integrator, its benefits include: -Versatile mounting options, -Ease of setup locally and remotely -And worry-free maintenance, all of which makes it an invaluable addition for a complete video solution

Q & A Q: Do you have official PDF file for ECD1000? A: Yes. Datasheets can be found on the Partner Zone. Q: Will the ECD-1000 support Non-ACTi cameras? A: Yes. Non-ACTi cameras are supported from firmware version ECD-010-V1.00.03-AC. Please refer to ACTi “Third-party Camera Integration Validator” at http://www.acti.com/3rdpartycamera Q: Can the BNC and HDMI ports show different video outputs? A: No. The output ports show identical video streams Some questions and answers can be found on this page. To summarize, the ECD-1000 datasheet can be found on the Partner Zone. The ECD-1000 does support some Non-ACTi cameras from the version of ECD-010-V1.00.03-AC. For details, please refer to the Third-party camera integration validator on the ACTi website. Finally, while the BNC and HDMI outputs can produce separate video streams concurrently, both streams must be identical. (It cannot stream different video outputs separately between the BNC and HDMI ports).

The End This concludes the presentation for the ECD-1000. If you have any further question, please consult the SISO tech services team for support.
