Questions Speakers situation in the octave- Conclusion in sestet- In the octave the speaker is saying how beautiful the view is and how you would have to be a fool to not stop and look at the beautiful sunrise. Conclusion in sestet- The speaker concludes by thinking about the sleeping city and wishing it could stay that way. He takes one more look before the busy day starts in London.

The City The city being described is London It is early in the morning No people in the streets yet Sunny, clear skies, no smoke in the air The perfect, picturesque setting for a city

Comparison of the Morning The morning is compared to a garment of beauty “This City now doth, like a garment, wear the beauty of the morning.”

Personification “This City now doth, like a garment, wear the beauty of the morning.” “Never did sun more beautifully steep” “The river glideth at his own sweet will” “Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie” “The very houses seem asleep”
