Controlling Your Emotions September 7, 2018

Controlling Your Emotions Once you enter into a work environment it’s important to control your emotions. Workplaces all have standards of behavior that employees are expected to follow and controlling emotions is one of them. It can be difficult to control your emotions, especially when you feel strongly about a certain issue. Controlling Your Emotions

Controlling Your Emotions Our emotions can cause us to say things that we don’t mean, hurt someone’s feelings or offend someone, even if we don’t mean to do so. Failing to control your emotions in the workplace can have serious consequences, including losing your job. Controlling Your Emotions

Controlling Your Emotions Controlling your emotions is not only a good practice for your professional well-being, but also for your social life. Simply practicing these five techniques will help you to control your emotions in the workplace: Stay calm Practice using good communication Learn to make constructive suggestions Think before you speak or act Write down your emotions Controlling Your Emotions

To be flexible means to be willing to adapt to change To be flexible means to be willing to adapt to change. Being flexible in your work requires that you keep an open mind. There are many situations in the workplace where you will need to be flexible. As long as you have a flexible attitude, you will have no problem accepting the different changes that each new day brings. Being Flexible

So what does it take to be flexible at work? Here are five keys to keep in mind in order to be flexible at work: Be willing to do extra work Accept that you might get thrown off your routine Learn to balance your own needs with those of others Work beyond your title Get back on track Being Flexible

Winston Churchill once said, “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” It all comes back to a person’s attitude. When you have a positive attitude, you see things differently. You are more likely to succeed because you tell yourself you can succeed. When you have a negative or pessimistic attitude, you are setting yourself up for failure. Before you even have a chance to try, you believe that you can’t do it, and so you can’t. The more you practice having a positive attitude, the easier it will become. Try to make a habit of having a positive attitude, and eventually your positive attitude will come naturally to you. Forming a habit starts with the things you say. Make positive statements, and eventually these statements will start to affect your thoughts. You will start to believe that the positive things you say are true. Your thoughts will then have a positive effect on your feelings, which will have a positive effect on your behaviors. As you repeat this positive behavior, it will develop into a habit. Only you can control your attitude and your ability to do well at work.
