H+E shows an infected cell with abundant bradyzoites (arrow) and extracellular tachyzoites (star) in neuropil, and abnormal microglial morphology indicating microglial activation. Antibody staining for Toxoplasma gondii is positive, as indicated by brown chromogen (arrow). b | Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy.
