Lets find out what type of multiple intelligence is your strongest!!!! Answer the questions on the quiz. You are happiest and most successful when you learn, develop, and work in ways that make best use of your natural intelligences (our strengths and style and brain-type in other words). This quiz can help you to focus on the sorts of learning and work that will be most fulfilling and rewarding for you. Remember it is only a general guide to help you learn more efficiently, there is still no substitute for hard work.

Tot up your scores. Instructions: Linguistic Logical - Mathematical Place a check mark by each item you marked as "true." Add your totals. A total of four in any of the categories A through E indicates strong ability. In categories F and G a score of one or more means you have abilities as well. P. E. T Technique Environment Preparation

To be as successful as me you must be prepared!! Preparation The difference between a good grade and a great grade is the level of preparation you put into your years work. How many students here generally only study for the weeks immediately before an exam? To be as successful as me you must be prepared!! Both long and short term preparation are needed

All of these things should be recorded on your Year Planner. Long term planning Classwork: Try as much as possible to keep up to date on your class work. Don’t miss school unless you’re struck by lightning. Notetaking: Keep up date on your notes. If you fall behind it can be very difficult to catch up. Homework/Coursework: It’s given for a reason (not to annoy you), so just do the work you’re assigned on time. It’s easier in the long run. All of these things should be recorded on your Year Planner.

All of these things should be recorded on your Revision Planner. Short term planning Targets list: Create a list of all the topics you must study for your exams. It will help you to visualise the work ahead. Revision notes: Using textbooks and class notes, create short revision notes to study immediately before exams. Practice/memorisation: Complete as many sample papers as possible and memorise your revision notes. This takes time. All of these things should be recorded on your Revision Planner.

When you are preparing for exams, make a clear plan of what subjects and topics you want to study each day. Equally as important is to plan some relaxation time. Exam Revision Planner Week beginning Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday/ Sunday Exams

Tips for a good study space Have one location, preferebly in a quiet place where you do all your study. Make certain that your desk is well lit, tidy and has everything you need; pens, paper, etc.. Make your study space as stimulating as possible, turn on music for example. Absolutely no TV!!! Always have a drink beside you (not RED BULL). You study better when hydrated. I know you’ll hate this idea, but to avoid distraction turn off your mobile phone when studying.

What to do with study notes? Technique The secret of effective study is to know exactly what you have to do before you even begin!! The most important element of studying is creating and using excellent study notes. Today we’re going to look at..... Why make study notes? How to make study notes? What to do with study notes?

Why make study notes To have a written record of what you have learnt over the year. To help your understanding of topics. Processing the information before you write your notes is an excellent way to help remember it. If you make consistent notes over the year you will have much less work to do come exam time.

Find the information you require. How to make study notes Find the information you require. Study Reread difficult sections Make notes as you read Ask yourself questions to check understanding Skim Look at titles, subtitles and keywords Underline information Ask yourself questions Scan Briefly read selected information Write keyword definitions Record yourself Bullet points Graphic organisers Prompt cards What I know charts

Graphic Organisers: Plenty of graphic organisers can be found on http://www.eduplace.com/graphicorganizer/ They are an excellent way to arrange your notes visually, therefore easier to remember. Examples are: bubble charts, fishbone charts, venn diagrams, flow charts, etc............ Here are a few of them.

What to do with the notes Now that you have created all these perfect study notes what do you do with them? Using your study notes Study with your friends and ask eachother questions. This is an excellent way to find any final problems. Get as many past exam papers as you can and answer questions, using your notes to help you. Read them repeatedly over the course of a few weeks, you’ll be amazed how much you remember.

Follow some of these tips and maybe you can really celebrate your results.
