Introductions Begin with a story. Introduce the subject and comment on it. What is the paper about? State purpose.

Introductions Ask a question. State a controversial opinion. Hint at how it’s organized. Put the important stuff first. End with a thesis statement.

Conclusions Summarize key points. Allude to your main points gain. End with a quotation. Restate a thesis. End with a brief emphatic statement.

Conclusions Suggest implications. Stop when the story is over. Sound confident. Identify any further study or work that is needed.

Transitions are bridges – glue for your paragraphs.

Transitions The last line of paragraph A and the first line of paragraph B should clearly connect to one another.
