Women in WW1 By Hafsah Waseem

WOMEN BEFORE THE WAR Before World War One began, men were thought of as the 'breadwinners', bringing in the weekly wage. The jobs they did were often tiring and required a lot of strength. Women mainly stayed at home and looked after their family – it didn’t look good if they were working !!

WAR ROCKS THEIR WORLD WW1 breaks out and the role of women changes drastically! Women are encouraged to help there men in war…and guess what…they certainly did !!

WOMEN ROLL THEIR SLEEVES UP Many women started to work outside of their homes for the first time. In 1918 5 million women were TAKING paid jobs. $$$$$$

Women worked in factories they made weapons for the war.

Women nurses helped wounded soldiers on the battle field

Women became farmers to keep the country going…THE LAND ARMY

Women were police officers and helped maintain the country’s order

They did so much more…

WOMEN HELPED WIN THE WAR THANKS TO THEIR COURAGE AND STRENGTH ! VICTORY !!!
