Scientific Question Which type of chip/snack food will Have the longest lasting fire. Now you might ask why I would pick this type of experiment. If you see my next page then you will see I like fire and I think that this could help many people.

My BackGround I Chose This Experiment Because I Am A Boy Scout And In Boy Scouts we have used Frito's for a fire starters. Also I Want to see which chip will be the best for future fires. Also I want to know if this experiment could help other people, so I can tell them that Blank type of chip is the best for fire building.

Hypothesis My hypothesis is that If Fritos are used then fritos will be the longest lasting fire of all the other chips/snacks foods used.

Variables The Independent variable is what I will be changing. What I will be changing is The type of chip/snack food used. Dependent variable is what changes based on what will happen. My dependent variable is the time the chips are on fire. The constant Is the type of thing in the experiment that stays the same. The Thing in my experiment that will stay the same is the amount of Chips used. Also Another one is the amount of fire. And Amount of space for the chips to burn in.

Procedure 1. First I got all my supplies ready. 2. Second I take my chips and sort them. 3. Third I take my pan And put 5 chips in the center. 4. Fourth I Set my chips on fire and start my timer. 5. Fifth I recorded my experiment. 6. I clean supplies and reset and ready for other chips. Repeat for steps 1-6, for other Chips.

Conclusion That is my Science Fair. The End ; ( My problem is that what type of chip/snack food will have the longest lasting fire. My experiment is about what type of snack food will burn the longest. I was comparing Fritos, Cheetos, Doritos, BBQ,Walmart,And Lays brands to each other. My data was that Fritos had the longest lasting fire, and walmart had the shortest lasting fire. My hypothesis was that if Fritos were used Then Fritos would have the longest lasting fire. My hypothesis was correct because Fritos had the longest lasting fire. I learned from this experiment that Fritos and other chips are very useful for firestarters. One error that occurred during my experiment was that if you use stale chips then the experiment will not work correctly. One thing I would have done differently is that I would have a bigger area of space and I would add more chips. That is my Science Fair. The End ; (
