EFFECTIVE BUSINESS PRESENTATIONS By: Deanna Ryals, HRMN 302, Professor Burman-Holtom November 2013

Selecting your topic Select a topic that will keep your audience interested Make sure your topic is relevant to the audience Be sure you are well informed on your topic Find a topic that provides new and interesting information

Presentation Design Pick a design that is interesting but not distracting Use fonts that are easy to read (large and bold) Incorporate graphics to emphasize your points Use pleasing colors Use transitions to add pizzaz

Effective information Make sure bullet points support your topic Keep bullets short and to the point Keep bullets to one line (strive for five to seven words) Use sub bullets if additional information is required Use no more than five bullets per slide

Message delivery Speak clearly when addressing your audience Keep eye contact with your audience Use tone to highlight specific points Move around on stage Use gestures to display attitude and feelings

Monitor your audience Watch the reaction of your audience Adjust tone or gestures as needed Speed up or slow down Refer back to visual aids or restate key points Allow time for questions
