Group Session Ken Sutcliffe / Clive Barwell / Amin Dada Our Best Kept Secret ….? Group Session Ken Sutcliffe / Clive Barwell / Amin Dada

Purpose of Session To consider how our Clubs need to adapt to be relevant in tomorrow’s society How is Society Changing? What are our aspirations? How can we adapt?

How is Society Changing? Multiculturalism Social structures collapsing Multiple choices for volunteers Instant Communications News - fact or fake, or does it matter? Privacy expectations Crowdsourcing exploitation Confusion on “what is appropriate” Charities and scandals abound Can we compete?

Aspirations Better Connected External Relationships Increased Capability to Serve Thriving Club Culture & Appeal

Table Challenges 30 mins discussion + 10 mins report back Table 1 External Relationships – facilitator: Clive How can Lions become better connected with our changing community? How should clubs approach this? Table 2 Capability to Serve – facilitator: Amin How can we increase our impact? What barriers do we need to overcome? Table 3 Club Culture and Appeal – facilitator: Ken Describe the features of a thriving club that will appeal to existing Lions and attract future members / volunteers? What changes to Lions Culture would you recommend?

Review Society is changing rapidly in this world of instant communications We need to adapt to remain relevant To changes in our communities To increase our impact, visibility and reputation To develop our club cultures to meet the needs of a new generation while retaining existing members Think how this learning can benefit your own club. What will you do?
