I. Geography and History A. The Iceman 1. He was found in 1991 on the Italian-Austrian border in the Alps.   2. He was found well preserved with his clothing, tools, and other possessions.

B. Scientists find 1. The Iceman lived 5,000 years ago   2. His finely stitched clothing showed he lived in a village where there were people skilled in sewing. 3. The most important clue was his copper axe, because copper was the first metal used c.4,000 BC.
