Expository writing Expository Writing is the formal writing in English where you expose some truth to your reader about a topic. Support and explanation are key components for this style of writing

Literary Analysis paragraph When asked to write a formal paragraph in English 9, what are some things you must include? (in the paragraph) Topic sentence or thesis (introduction) Proof and explanation (the body) Concluding sentence (conclusion)

General rules for formal Literary analysis Written in present tense Written in 3rd person (No “I think…”) Relies solely on the text for information Uses standard English - no contractions, slang, or text talk Answers the question - stays on topic Refers directly and indirectly to the text References - quotations/paraphrasing text Inferences - reading between the lines General rules for formal Literary analysis All literary analysis should follow these rules.
