The Eight Domains of WHO/AARP Livable Community for All Ages

Outdoor Spaces and Buildings: Safe access to buildings and recreational facilities. Transportation: Safe and affordable modes of private and public transportation and access to them. Housing: A range of affordable, accessible housing options, affordable assisted living and home modification programs for aging in place.

Social Participation/Respect and Social Inclusion/Communication and Information: Information available at neighborhood or community level; promotion of ethnic, cultural and intergenerational interaction. Civic Participation and Employment: Paid work and volunteer activities for older residents and opportunities to engage in the formulation of policies relevant to their lives.

Community Support and Health Services: Access to home-based care services, health clinics and programs that promote wellness and active aging.
