The Aztecs L/O: To discover about Aztec wealth, war and religion. To work as a group and complete the classwork in a limited time. Level 4 – Simple descriptions of Aztec life Level5 – detailed descriptions of Aztec life Level 6 – Explanations of Aztec life.

Let’s watch some video clips. While you are watching them, you must fill the empty table with as much information as you can. You will work in groups of 3. Main task – Group work To create an information booklet for students in year 6 who want to know how Aztec people lived. You already have some information from the video, but now you will need to find other important information on the following pages: 55 = War 56 – 57 = Wealth 58 – 59 = Religion You will work in groups of 3. 1 person will create an information page on war. 1 person will do this for Wealth. Detailed descriptions of: How Tenochtitlan was set up (buildings, people, jobs etc). The law in Tenochtitlan The kinds of things sold at the market. What kind of religion the Aztecs had and the things they did for their religion. Explanations of: how the Aztecs used to fight in wars (weapons and dress) and why. The law in Tenochtitlan and punishments. What kind of religion the Aztecs had and the sacrifices they did and why. A description of a sacrifice. The Spanish reaction to the Aztec religion. MAXIMUM OF 20 MINUTES FOR MAIN TASK
