Writing A Review Reviews describe the things they evaluate (description). Evaluation criteria must match your purpose, category, and audience. Include feelings towards your subject but they are not enough (opinions). Judgments range from overall assessment to more specific commentary. Reviews attempt to offer a balanced assessment (include some positives on the subject). Evidence & relevant comparisons form the backbone of the review.
