You need to refer to Source A and Source B for this question. The effects of the weather on people in both sources are very different. Use details from both sources to write a summary of the different ways people are affected by the weather. [8 marks] Both texts are about extreme weather conditions. Source A shows the horrifying consequences of a sudden storm on Mount Everest, while Source B focuses on less dramatic heavy snowfall in London in the 1800s. Effects on people: Source A: Source B: People fight for their lives after becoming trapped Whereas Physical effects include – frozen beards, headaches and cold fingers – an inconvenience rather than a danger. People have been taken by surprised and are unprepared - e.g. running out of oxygen supplies People are very cold and have to wear warmer clothes – however, this is not life threatening.
