In sunshine and in shadow

In search of El Dorado
But he grew old, This knight so bold
And o’er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found, No spot of ground
That looked like El Dorado
And, as his strength Failed him at length
He met a pilgrim shadow
“Shadow,” said he, “Where can it be?”
“This land of El Dorado”
“Over the Mountains Of the Moon”
“Down the Valley of the Shadow”
“Ride, boldly ride,” The shade replied
“If you seek for El Dorado!”

I’m dressed very bright, A fearless knight
In sun and in dark
Had traveled with fight
With some music to find light
But grew too weak, To make a peep
As he lost hope
Sad as he found no spot of ground
That looked like light
As his strength failed him at length
He met a traveling ghost
“Ghost,” he said
“Where could it be, the land of might and light”
Over the hill of the sun
Down the valley
“Drive safely drive, Is how you’ll arrive”
“To the land of might and light.”

Glad and looking good, as a happy guy should
Day and night
Had journeyed to the moon, singing a rock-and-roll tune
In search of a great site
He grew old, this dude so cold
And on his mind a great fright
Came as he found no spot to stop and play Wii, the game
In search of a great site
As he got tired and weak, he began to fall asleep, at the wheel of his big-rig
He had a dream, woke up saying “what did that mean?”
And try as he might
He still struggled to find the great site
Over the mountain, down the highway
Down to the valley where some go to lie
“Drive quickly drive,” said the great fright
“If you seek the great site”

Searching for El Dorado
His arm got weak and tired from driving
Darkness covered the heart of the old man

As his strength left him
He called the ghost of Mr. Matt
The athletic man was told by Mr. Matt
“I have faith in you”
In another galaxy
In the depths of the black hole
“Don’t lose faith” spoke Mr. Matt
“If you’re searching for El Dorado, look in yourself.”
