Presentation transcript:

What should I do if I miss a day of school? Get your missed assignments—of course!!!!

1. You come into my class “before” school begins—7:20-7:35 a.m.!!!!

Why do I have to come in so early Why do I have to come in so early? To check and see what you missed by checking the assignment book and picking up your missing paperwork or seeing if you need to view a PPT at home, etc. Do not stay behind Then you can say that you are:

First—you Sign in for the day/s you were absent and the day you came in to pick up your work. 1. This is a new procedure to enable me to double check on absences and students who come in to check for and pick up their missing assignment on the days they miss. 2. This tracking sheet should help me see who came in who did not and who missed getting missed assignments and who is still missing work because they never came in to pick it up. Remember….. when you miss school, it is your responsibility to contact your teachers to see what you missed and what needs to be made up. 3. I can see if this tracking is helping keep students keep caught up.

So-you will be able to use the assignment notebook to look up: 1. The OA for the day you missed. You need to write it into your OA section of your science notebook and answer it –just like any other day at school. 2. Any assignment we did. You can pick the assignment up and ask any questions about the assignment that you may have. There is less chance for confusion this way. *NOTE—trying to accomplish #2 listed above right before class begins does not always give enough time for explanation or understanding—and I do not feel it is right to hold up the whole class for one person.  3. You can find out if there is a PPT you need to go and look at on the blog or notes or computer research….etc., etc., etc.,

So---any questions on “why” you need to show up before school when you have missed science?

Last chance---Any Questions?

Okee Dokee then.
