Presentation transcript:

Ms. Passer’s News from Room 106 Important Upcoming Dates: Week of: October 17th, 2016 We have finished our fifth week of school and have really developed a great routine. It’s important that students aren’t coming to school with anything that can distract them while learning – leave those things at home! It’s a big testing week – get lots of rest!! We finished Topic 3. We will review all of the different concepts, tools, and properties we learned as well as take a practice test on Monday. This practice test is exactly the same as the actual test we will take on Tuesday, just different problems! Review this at home and come up with different problems for each question! We finished our last lesson in Unit 1! Wow! With two days of school this week, we will split up the unit test (6 short stories with comprehension questions) into both days. A good strategy to use with comprehension at home is asking your student questions after they read a book or chapter. They can also write about what they read too. Our chapter tests are improving – way to go third graders! With all the testing and art this week, we will not be having Science or Social Studies. Important Upcoming Dates: October 19th: No School (PLC day) October 20th & 21st: No School (MEA) October 28th: Picture Retake Day October 31st: Halloween parade at school starting at 1:45 PM No Spelling!
