Summer Math Curse 2017 By Kian Derenick

Problem #1: Grotto Pizza We went to Grotto Pizza. Each pizza was cut in into 8 slices. Dad ate ½ of a pizza, mom ate ¼ of a pizza, I ate 3 8 of a pizza, Lucian ate ¼ of a pizza, and Maia ate 1 8 of a pizza. How many slices did we eat all together?

Problem #2: The Tree House My dad and I are building a tree house for my family. I want to figure out the area for the platform. The length is 10 feet and the width is 8 feet so what is the area? #

Problem #3: Shopping My Nana took me shopping. I bought 4 packs of Pokémon cards for $4.99 each. I also bought a Lego set which was $59.49. The tax was $4.77. How much money did I spend?

Answer Key Problem #1: ½ + 3 8 + ¼ + 1 8 + ¼=12 slices Problem #2: 8x10=80 square feet Problem #3: 4x4.99=19.96+59.49=79.45+4.77=$84.22
