YY fares – why are they relevant?

Known as IATA fares Used for passenger travel on interline basis Creating fares for Ship‘s Crews, Student Fares, Reduced fares for Tour Conductors Used for Base Amount selection in revenue accounting purposes

Airlines refer to IATA (YY) fares in interline and other agreements IATA (YY) fares are often used to calculate ID50s because….

YY fares are fully refundable YY fares are fully changeable YY fares have no sales restrictions no travel restrictions any carrier can use them

The result in using YY fares is often a very high fare, disproportionate to the average commercial fare on the sector.

YY fares will cease on 1 November 2018, so we have to future-proof ID50.

Unrestricted Fares, other than YY, do exist and can be used, but not in every market and on every route, so concurring partners often have difficulty in finding the correct fare to calculate ID50. Result = under/over collection

Restricted Fares are mostly carrier fares with restrictions, such as: Travel period Sales allowed for certain agents only Specific markets only or some markets excluded Mostly non-refundable, with penalties for changes

Carriers can allow ID50 from restricted fares, but some insist that the fare conditions must follow the original fare rules. This does not meet our requirements.

In Appendix Fares – Section D.3.a says: “ID50/IDMH Duty Travel or Crew Deadheading  >  Members may bilaterally agree to a 50% discount off the Transporting Airline's lowest applicable unrestricted or IDMH zonal fare for confirmed space travel in business  or economy class” So – if the Transporting Airline does not have an unrestricted economy fare at all, what then?

What concurring partners will have to do: Be specific as to the fare types to use for ID50 and determine the booking class. Or Remove ID50 as a ZMF option and, as with leisure travel, retain mileage-based fares only.

ZED MIBA Website enhancement

On My Account the fields ‘Authorised representative’ and ‘Emal address’ shall be locked, and only available for add/change by MSC. This to ensure control on any AR additions/changes. Background: Current system does not allow two accounts to have the same email address at the same time - so here we need to create a little more complex function for it - it also needs to be safe so no sub-user can do him/herself a main account without any restrictions. Goal of the Survey At the 2017 AGM there was a breakout session to determine if there was interest in a survey. survey tool will gather information from airlines Information can be used by airlines internally Negotiating with unions Benchmarks when reviewing policies

Survey Location Infonia can: Create a link from ZEDMIBA.org that will go directly to the survey The survey can be embedded in ZEDMIBA.org ZEDMIBA.org can be the home of the survey The task force suggests that Infonia create a link to the survey. Once it is determined how much participation there is from airlines, it can be made more permanent.
