An integrated model that would: Build skills in: Digital literacy Independent learning Integration of wider materials and contexts Response to peer critique Self-regulation Writing for an audience other than an instructor/expert Metacognition (thinking about the learning/thinking process, not just the outcomes) Allow for peer discussion and peer feedback Encourage active, flexible participation Have a formative function (providing a ‘feedforward’ for future learning) Be built in to continuous learning throughout the module Allow me to evaluate my teaching as well as my students’ learning
