Unit Tests (Summative Assessment) Students will be tested on content at the end of each unit. To help students prepare at home, use the study guide given to each student.

Approaches to Learning Notebooks (Formative Assessments) Students will experience different “approaches to learning” through a variety of activities and student products. These are collected and graded at the end of each unit and collected in their ATL notebooks. Examples: Vocabulary lists Fictional Short Stories Discussions Interactive maps Poetry Problem Solving Group Work Writing Prompts Skill Builders Political Cartoons Self Assessments Preview activities Graphic organizers Visual Discoveries Simulations & Mysteries Review Games Video Clip Notes

Reminders… Ask your students to teach you what they learned in class each day! Absent students need to visit their teachers during TA or at lunch to get materials and directions when they return. Study hall is offered by the school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. If your student has a missing assignment, they should be there.
