I Notice, I Wonder… What are some things that you notice about this image? Or, what are some things that you wonder about this image?

Interpret absolute value in real-world situations and Ordered Pairs Today I will apply the concept of how the signs (positive or negative) of a set of numbers influences the order of absolute values. So that we apply our understanding of order and absolute value to real-world scenarios. I will show how I have mastered ordering rational numbers and absolute values by independently completing my quiz with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.C.6 and 6.NS.C.7

Language Objective By the end the task, students will be able to use the language domains of listening, reading and writing. They will listen to the teachers directions, read the real world problems and apply the concept of how the signs (positive or negative) of a set of numbers influences the order of absolute values to write the answers to their quiz. They will show their mastery by independently completing the quiz with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: Absolute value, rational number, integer, positive, negative, Number line
