News with Mrs. Holly, Mrs. Holliday and Miss Brandi September 30-October 4, 2013 News with Mrs. Holly, Mrs. Holliday and Miss Brandi A Peek At the Week… Sight Words: but, not, what, all, were Letters: Yy, Zz (sound & identification) Math: Numbers and Counting Science Unit: Bats and Spiders Language: We will finish reading Winter’s Tail and watch the movie, Dolphin Tale. We will learn about fiction, non-fiction and beginning, middle and end as we read books about bats and spiders. Homework Practice letters, sounds and sight words nightly. Read and record it on your reading log. This should be done nightly, if possible. Math Worksheet Donation Corner Glue sticks Wet wipes Candy corn Individually wrapped candy Dates to Remember: October 3- Bat Cave Book Night (Late Library) October 4- Pink Out Day- wear pink for breast cancer awareness month (Only clip in hair clips allowed- no dyed hair please) Picture Orders due October 14- Report Cards Issued October 17- Parent Teacher Conferences, Students released early October 18-21 Fall Break October 22-25 Red Ribbon Week October 26 MES Movie Night This ‘N That Please return parent-teacher conference reservation forms as soon as possible. Don’t forget to send in an excuse note (doctor’s or parent’s) when your child is absent. Teacher Contact Info: hmcnally@effingham.k12.ga.us or 728-3262  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Relay for Life Team will be selling pink, clip-in hair for $5 to benefit the American Cancer Society. These clip-ins may be worn for the month of October. Supplies are limited and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Forms will be sent home this week. Please note that BOE policy will NOT allow dyed pink hair. To order, send cash or check made payable to ACS, along with the form provided or a note with your child’s name and teacher’s name.
