I Regional spatial plan of AP Vojvodina Strategic document in accordance with the strategic goals of the Spatial Plan of the Republic of Serbia Author: Urban and Spatial Planning Institute of Vojvodina Year of adoption: 2011. Defines: Spatial development Safety/protection arrangement And the use of space of APV

Vision of spatial development of APV APV needs to be clearly articulated as one of the regions of the Republic of Serbia within the network of the European regions. It considers: activation of regional specificities of APV mobilizing territorial capital sustainable usage of natural and man-made resources long-term reconstruction and development of human resources traffic accessibility and connectivity with corridors X and VII infrastructure, energy efficiency, attractiveness for investments, economy and institution development, the protection of natural and cultural heritage

General goals of spatial development of APV decrease in subregional differences in economic and social terms activation of territorial capital rural development and strengthening of the village position arrangement and sustainable use of nature, sites, cultural heritage and natural environment networking of the Vojvodina region with other regions

Covered areas natural system with resources population, settlements and public services economic activities and tourism traffic and infrastructural system environment, landscapes, natural and cultural resources use of land interregional and intraregional functional connections and cross-border cooperation

1. Natural resources agricultural land forests and forest land (144388 ha – 6,7%) mineral resources (oil and gas, reserves and coal exploitation, metallic mineral deposits) water resources (the Danube, the Tisa, the Sava)

2. Population, settlement and public services negative population growth in all the regions of APV settlement network: balanced urban development, extensive network of cities and urban settlements influence of functional urban areas (FUA) concept: integration of space outside FUA Independent development of space outside FUA networking of FUA within APV public services: education, health and social care, culture and sports

3. Spatial development and distribution of economic activities SME: insufficient compliance with the European and international standards and norms, industrial products not competitive enough, trade deficit structural issues: unemployment and low total competitiveness of the sectors industrial sector in the process of restructuring and privatization spatial distribution of industrial capacity is uneven/unequal

3. Spatial development and distribution of economic activities According to the needs of accelerated development of AP Vojvodina in the field of economy, it is necessary to: reconstruct the economy for the purpose of creating competitive economy; develop modern economic and business infrastructure; create favorable/suitable investment climate to attract foreign investment; harmonize education system with the needs of economic development; support small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs; support the introduction of new technologies and the introduction of technological innovations. Tourism (manifestations, hunting ground, spa tourism)

Infrastructural system Transport infrastructure (road, railway, and waterway transport, air traffic, multimodal transport) Waterway infrastructure Energy infrastructure (energy efficiency, renewable sources of energy) Utility infrastructure (settlements’ water supply and sewerage infrastructure)

Environment, sites, natural resources and cultural heritage Protection and enhancement of the environment Compromised air quality (energy sector, transport, industry) compromised water quality (untreated industrial and municipal waste water, landfills, pollution due to navigation) Conservation/protection and landscaping Protection of natural resources and biodiversity Protection, development and improvement of cultural heritage

IPA 2007 - 2013 total budget 11,468 billion €, SRB 1.4 billion €, cca 200 million € p.a.
