Welcome to Innovillage 5.8.2015

Innovillage is an innovation community Innovillage is an innovation community in the health and welfare sector that is open to everyone. Innovillage offers development tools, both online tools and tools based on face-to-face meetings. Innovillage brings together the development efforts in the sector and offers an excellent channel for sharing models, information and examples of implemented innovations. The purpose of Innovillage is to support sustainable renewal in the health and welfare sector. 5.8.2015

Innovillage is open to everyone Open and shared development is the fundamental principle underlying Innovillage, and hence it is free of charge to everyone. Openness and interaction enable collaboration, free use of results and efficient use of resources. Innovillage provides information, tools, methods and partners for all stages of development. 5.8.2015

Innovillage innovation model The type of open co-development supported by Innovillage is readily applicable as the basis for all development work and any development goals. It can address major or minor issues, be experimental or highly systematic, and be embedded in the daily activities of organizations and projects. It might also be related to procurement where R&D is purchased from one or more suppliers. The targets of co-development can be technologies or products, services, methods, processes or structures. 5.8.2015

User partnerships: Ministry of Social Affairs and Health uses Innovillage in its main strategic programme and develops legislation in the open environment. Ministry of Finance in their public policy experiment projects Majority of health districts in their development projects, Major 3rd sector organisations in their development projects. Additionally, about 100 local social and health care providers, numbers of small 3rd sector organizations, 20-30 public sector programmes, and universities of applied sciences collaborate in Innovillage 5.8.2015

Innovilllage: A national innovation community Co-ordinated by Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Developed and maintained by National Institute for Health and Welfare, The Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities, and SOSTE Finnish Society for Social and Health. Partners: Finland's Slot Machine Association; Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund; and TEKES – Finnish Technology Agency for Technology and Innovation www.innokyla.fi 5.8.2015

Innovillage tools Innovillage provides online tools applicable at the various stages of the development process. It also provides a forum for the dissemination of the results of the development efforts and best practices. These services are all based on three common principles – openness, collaboration, and learning from each other. 5.8.2015

Workspace and Procurement workspace Innovillage's workspace provides a forum for networking and collaboration. In a workspace, networks and projects can share and store materials, co-operate in real time, and communicate. Furthermore, a workspace serves as a handy home page for the network. Innovillage's procurement workspace provides an environment where public procurement projects can be jointly planned and prepared, and a forum for co- operative work during the contract period. A procurement workspace is very useful in so-called innovative procurement, in particular, with an exceptionally large amount of co-operation between the purchasing organisation and the potential suppliers. 5.8.2015

Workshop, general model, project New solutions can be developed, planned and evaluated in the virtual workshops. Typically, you do not carry out your development work alone but invite other developers and partners to participate. General models are generalised templates based on previously developed solutions and can be shared with the wider user community. A tool for project planning and implementation, and for reporting the results. The working plans, final reports and other project-related material can all be stored in one place – the project database. 5.8.2015
