Most Canadians supported the war (at first) Believed war would be short and over by Christmas Believed fighting in the war would be glorious and exciting they would come make them heroes Believed that Canadians had a duty to support Britain Signed up to fight as a way to escape financial hardship Patriotic urge to defend Canada
