we will be able to... Define ‘awe and wonder’ List the things people can wonder about. Explain awe in the universe Explain awe in the natural world Explain awe in human beings Define reflection

NOW Allow your body to relax and close your eyes. Listen to the sounds outside the room. Pay attention to each sound…listen to them all. Listen to the sounds inside the room. Now listen to your breathing for several minutes.

Now take yourself back to a time when you were happy Now take yourself back to a time when you were happy. Picture that scene in your mind. When you are ready, come back into the present. Become aware of where you are….notice the sounds around you. Now open your eyes.

What did we say Awe and wonder was?

Awe and Wonder ‘Feelings inspired by mysterious aspects of life’

People can have deep joy and admiration for... The universe The natural world Human beings

One small part of the universe...

Does it make you wonder what else is out there in that vast space?! The Universe How many stars are in the sky? How many other galaxies apart from the Milky Way? How big is the universe? Does it make you wonder what else is out there in that vast space?!

The Natural World

Ordinary things become extraordinary if we take time to stop and look at them...

Human Beings Sometimes we stop and marvel at the existence of others and special occasions. A new born baby. A good friend. A loving parent/grandparent. A person who has achieved something amazing. A special moment.

These special moments Often lead us to think about life on a deeper level. It leads us to reflect.

Reflection ‘thinking deeply about certain aspects of life’ It is an important human characteristic. Only human beings are able to reflect. When we reflect, we think deeply about life and we become more aware of our feelings and actions. Sometimes when people reflect on their experiences, they ask questions about the meaning of life, for example: ‘Who am I?

In taking time to reflect, they learn more about themselves and about life. As a result, they are better equipped to make important decisions.
